5th Annual Charity Ascent Raises a Record $5,350 for the Rocky Mountain Microfinance Institute and the Colorado Business Development Foundation

As the Charity Ascent reaches its 5th year of service, 55 hikers including the CEO of Transworld Business Advisors trek across Shanahan Ridge in Boulder, a 4 mile hike, and raise record funds for local small business development charity partners.

Denver, CO (August 13, 2019) Since 2015, Transworld Business Advisors - Rocky Mountain has hosted a charity hike in support of charity partners that help small business owners grow and succeed in Colorado. For the 2nd year in a row, the Rocky Mountain Microfinance Institute, an organization that serves its entrepreneurs with both business development and lending services, joined the Charity Ascent as a partner. RMMFI’s programs look to build stability and growth across personal stability, entrepreneurial spark, and business feasibility.

The Colorado Business Development Foundation joined the event as a charity partner for its inaugural year. Transworld Business Advisors and CBDF have long been partners through Transworld’s annual sponsorship of the Colorado Small Business Development Center Network. The CBDF is the nonprofit entity of the Colorado SBDC Network and their mission is to develop and help fund small business resources.

This August’s charity hike was a great step forward for Transworld’s support of the small business community. One of our core values is small business advocacy, and this hike is one core way we live out this value and make an impact on the Rocky Mountain community. The event itself is a great opportunity to spend quality time with other local professionals and create those key connections that help professionals move the needle forward within their business. The second and more obvious impact is that we raise more capital year over year to contribute to organizations that we know make a difference in building up small business owners.

“My husband and I both come from a family of entrepreneurs, as do many of our team members, so there is a longstanding passion for small business we all carry with us. Watching how the Charity Ascent has grown from year to year, it is obvious how invested the team is in helping to contribute to our charity partners. Many of our team members even bring their family along to the hike, so the event has become a strong community effort,” said Jessica Fialkovich, President of Transworld Business Advisors - Rocky Mountain.

Kevin Doyle and Renee Wood, officers with Wells Fargo SBA Lending have sponsored the event for the past 3 years, and are active partners of Transworld because of their SBA preferred lending program. This year, Mogg, Hoeye & Associates joined the event as a new sponsor. Mogg Hoeye is a CPA firm based in Littleton, Colorado, serving small businesses and their owners accounting needs.

Looking to the 2020 Charity Ascent, Transworld has long dreamt of establishing their own nonprofit to directly serve entrepreneurs. With a nonprofit arm Transworld will more easily be able to allocate funds exactly where they’re needed in the community and create a more lasting impact for business owners in the Rocky Mountain region.
