Clay Bontrager, Ph.D. is a licensed senior International business intermediary offering his clients the experience of more than twenty-five years involving Business Brokerage, Commercial Realty and Mergers & Acquisitions. His responsibilities include exclusive seller or buyer representation, international market analysis, property and business evaluations, as well as client negotiations, mediation, and business marketing, both domestic and internationally.
Additionally, Clay has served as the CEO of a closely held corporation that purchased 14 different financially challenged businesses in various industries, made operational changes for profitability and re-sold them at a profit. His experience as a business owner allows him to identify various areas of business management and operations that can add value to a business, by either making it more profitable or more attractive to market and sell.
He is currently a member of Business Brokers of Florida, and International Business Brokers Association, which enables him to represent global businesses to international buyers, network with other business and commercial brokers, and align buyers with specific businesses on the global market. He has served as Mayor to his home community which enables him to give specific direction to business owners concerning how to make a positive impact to their peer and industry group, and share vision and leadership in their own communities. Clay has held multiple real estate licenses in other states before locating in Florida. He was instrumental in opening Transworld offices in Orlando, Ocala and Sarasota, Florida and is a Senior Broker for Transworld Business Brokers, LLC, the largest business broker in the S.E. United States.

A Kansas native, Clay began his business career fresh out of school with a vision for business ownership. He took over his father’s large ranch and cattle operation and then spanned out to include a restaurant, tire dealership, auto (2) and truck repair, towing company, asphalt maintenance, fuel jobber, furniture sales and inter-state refrigerated trucking and brokerage. He is a former national champion race car driver racing Outlaw winged Sprint cars through the Midwest. He enjoys traveling in his diesel motor home, visiting his children and grandchildren, racing, boating, Harley Davidson touring or simply relaxing on the beach with a good book.
