SBA Preapproved

Fully licensed and insured plumbing company, holding an unlimited (P-1) plumbing license in North Carolina. License continuity is built into this sale: two team members hold the P-1 license, the licensed field manager is expected to remain as license qualifier, and the owner will stay for up to 2 years after closing. The team is highly skilled in trenching and backhoe work, sewer jetting, gas piping, and medical and institutional plumbing services. The company is also experienced in installing residential fire sprinkler systems.
  • 25 years of strong reputation in Eastern NC with loyal client relationships
  • 84% SDE growth and 40% revenue growth (2023 to 2026 est.)—2026 forecast: $2.0M revenue, $677K SDE
  • SDE already accounts for hiring a full-time office manager at market rate to replace the owner's spouse
  • SBA preapproved, with $175,000 in seller financing available
  • Nine full-time field plumbers plus owner/manager—long-tenured core team, supplemented by recent hires to meet demand
  • Fully licensed and insured with diverse services across residential, commercial, and institutional markets
  • Company provides 401 (k) plan for all employees and health insurance for owners with current plans to add all employees
  • Minimal marketing required—steady workflow from referrals and reputation
  • Branded trucks and uniforms provide consistent professional visibility
  • Turnkey operation with equipment, vehicles, and owned office/warehouse facility
  • No single general contractor accounts for more than 20% of revenue
  • High demand—operating at full capacity and turning down work
  • Located in a geographic area with high residential and commercial growth
  • Strong growth potential through geographic expansion, military contracts, and online presence
Looking ahead, there is significant opportunity for continued expansion, creating additional revenue streams, and broadening the customer base. Key growth drivers include:
  • Hire additional staff
  • Expand geographically (current footprint is limited to a 20–30 mile radius)
  • Pursue RFP and bid-based opportunities
  • Expand into military and government contracts
  • Add warranty, insurance-related, and other plumbing services
  • Implement a targeted online and traditional marketing strategy
  • Automate back-office processes and add mobile capabilities

Currently, the company has more business than it can handle. With these initiatives, the business is well-positioned to capitalize on both internal strengths and external market momentum.

License & Transition Plan
The company’s North Carolina P-1 (unlimited) plumbing license is held by two team members: the owner and a highly experienced plumber who currently serves as field manager. The field manager is expected to remain and serve as the licensed qualifier after the sale, and the seller will support a retention arrangement (such as a stay bonus or performance incentive) to secure his continued employment. The owner will remain for up to 2 years after closing and will be available as a licensed qualifier during the transition, subject to NC licensing board requirements. During that time, the owner will train the buyer (or a buyer-appointed general manager) in estimating, bidding, scheduling, and job costing, and will personally introduce the buyer to each active general contractor. A buyer with general business management experience can typically manage the business within 6–12 months.
