The sellers had reached an important turning point. They were ready to relocate and had decided that if the business couldn’t be sold within their desired timeframe, they would close its doors instead. Finding the right buyer at the right price became essential to giving them the opportunity to walk away from the business with something meaningful to show for everything they had built. 

“Timing and value were both incredibly important to the sellers,” said Mariner. “Once we found the right position for the business in the market, we connected with a well-qualified buyer who saw the opportunity and was ready to move forward.” 

Finding that buyer was an important milestone, but getting the transaction to closing required continued hands-on support. Financing became one of the most critical pieces of the deal, with the lender requiring significant additional information from both sides before the loan could move forward. 

Mariner took an active role in managing the banking relationship, building rapport with the lender and helping the buyer and sellers stay ahead of requests throughout the financing process. By coordinating information, maintaining communication between all parties, and addressing questions as they arose, she helped keep the loan moving toward approval without losing sight of the sellers’ timeline. 

“Once you have the right buyer, there’s still a lot that has to happen before everyone reaches the closing table,” said Mariner. “My role was to keep the pieces moving, solve problems as they came up, and make sure both sides had the support they needed to get this across the finish line.” 

That persistence paid off. Financing was approved, the transaction closed efficiently, and the sellers were able to receive proceeds from the business they had built rather than simply shutting it down. The successful sale provided a nest egg to support their upcoming move and gave them the freedom to begin their next chapter on much stronger footing. 

After closing, both the buyer and sellers expressed appreciation for Mariner’s hands-on approach and the closing support she coordinated throughout the transaction. The sellers shared that they couldn’t have gotten the deal done without her and were proud to celebrate a successful sale with friends and family who had followed their journey. 

What could have ended with the doors closing instead became an opportunity for two new beginnings. The sellers could move forward with the financial benefit of a successful exit. At the same time, the buyer stepped into an established business with the opportunity to build upon what was already there.
