Tom is an active member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and the Carolina Virginia Business Brokers Association (CVBBA), where he has served on the bylaws and conference committees. He also serves on the advisory board of the Small Business Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at East Carolina University and serves on the Board of the ENC Alliance (2025-2026). In 2024, he was recognized with the Transworld President's Club Award, the IBBA Chairman's Circle Award, and Executive Club status with M&A Source. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University. Tom is a longtime resident of Eastern North Carolina, where he and his wife Heather raised their children, Anna and Jack.
